Big Brother is an unreleased game devleoped by MediaX between 1996-1999. It was a psuedo-sequel to George Orwell's book 1984 and endorsed by Orwell's estate. MediaX would cease updates on the development of the game in late 1999 and would shut down all together in 2005. This build is an alpha demo build from January 4th, 1999.
While it is a demo, further levels and logic from the full game are present within the files.
Installation Instructions:
If running on Windows 11, the game has to be installed manually by copying both the Brother and BRENDER folder (download here) to your C drive.
From there, extract dgVoodoo 2 to the Brother folder and set the appearance to windowed, and turn off application controlled behavior and turn on alt enter toggle for full screen.
Modify fps extended settings to your preference.
When launching the game, do NOT enter full screen until the cutscene, which can be skipped by pressing any button, has played. Game can be installed conventionally using the given installer in Windows 10 (dgVoodoo still required) and Macintosh using Wine and a glide wrapper.
No instructions are available for running Big Brother on earlier operating systems at this time.
